The 606 Horseshoe Lounge is virtually all that's left of the historical "Black Bottom" or "Paradise Valley" area of Detroit, most of which was levelled in the '60's for the construction of Interstate 75. The name "Black Bottom" comes from the area which was once known for its fertile soil.
